Chicago-based violinist & violist Ryan Caparella is an active performer with a special passion for chamber music.  

Experience

Violinist/violist Ryan Caparella can be found performing across the Chicago area. Founded in 2010, The Living Room Players operates by the philosophy that for classical music to be loved, it must be heard, and endeavors to provide unique and accessible performances to a broad and diverse set of audiences.

As a member of The Mantovani Orchestra, Ryan toured the US and China in 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2014. Ryan has performed with a range of Grammy and Emmy nominated and winning artists, including Bruce Hornsby, Steve Miller,  Judy Collins, Ricky Skaggs, Bebe Neuwirth,​ Jon Secada and Patti Austin, and frequently plays in pit orchestras across Chicago.

Ryan holds a Masters of Music from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford, where he studied violin with Katie Lansdale and Elizabeth Faidley, and a Bachelors of Music from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, where he studied with Glenn Basham and Scott Flavin. Ryan has attended summer chamber music festivals across the country, collaborating with talented peers  under the tutelage of many accomplished artists, including current and former members of the Emerson Quartet, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Saint Paul Chamber ​Orchestra, and Borodin Quartet, among others.
